I donate to WFH USA to help improve the quality of life for people with bleeding disorders everywhere. Both of my stepdaughters have severe factor V deficiency. They are trying to make a difference in the world as young women with bleeding disorders.
We’ve been told many times that the girls might not survive their bleeding episodes. In some cases, their conditions became worse because proper treatment was withheld. Most physicians don’t understand that girls (and women) can have bleeding disorders, too.
Teresa, my oldest stepdaughter, is 28 years old. She has worked for Starbucks for over seven years. Maria, my youngest stepdaughter, is now 25 years old. She will graduate with her Master’s degree in Architecture this June. |
