Why I give to WFH USA

The e-mail I received from Lucian Uritescu a couple of years back got me interested in hemophilia abroad. He’s a young man with hemophilia who lives in Brasov, Romania, and all he wanted was some factor to help treat his bleeds. He was in dire straights and still lives day-to-day wondering what he will do if he has another bleed. I try to help him as much as possible by rounding up support through unofficial channels but his life continues to be an ordeal. We keep in touch and have become pretty good friends. Lucian would be in heaven if he had all the resources we have in the States. He could live a normal life and not let hemophilia rule his life. He could get a job and keep a girlfriend. It’s heart-wrenching the things that he goes through in Romania. Factor is virtually non-existent and even cryoprecipitate isn’t available that much.
I challenge other people with hemophilia as well as everyone who works in pharmaceutical industry to donate to WFH. Helping people in the hemophilia community is so rewarding. It is one thing that pays me back more than all the money in the world could ever do!
